i decided to give the backstreet boys' new album another chance to ahem impress me, and so i did it with much faked exuberation last nite on the mrt ride home, during which i didnt get to sit for the whole journey. track one was incomplete...ah skip..listen to that too much already. went on to track 2 and as the melody and lyrics seeped into my ultra-bored soul, i suddenly found myself becoming impatient to finish the song and move on to the next.and the next.till the last song which the album's named after, Never Gone. that was one of the looong MRT rides I thoroughly and truly enjoyed. harhar.
seriously, I recommend u all to get the album. each song has its own distinct 'personality'. has its own unique melody, chorus and to some extent, lyrics. plus a mix of a few genres the band's known for.like pop ballad, 'techno-pop' (note: my own term),rock ballad?. i bet it's gonna be another platinum album. the figures are showing signs already...no. 1 in so many countries, including India, which i didn't really expect to be the case. anyway, it goes to show how nice the album is.
btw, today marks a milestone in our history. as in mankind's history. An impactor from the Deep Impact spacecraft has successfully crashed into the comet Tempel 1. woohoo. some may be wondering why im making this such a big issue. wads the big deal abt us hitting a heavenly rock with some piece of scrap metal. well kid, its not about hitting, its about the pics. super close-up pictures of the comet, even those just before impact can be found at NASA's webby. super coool.
i know the pics are kinda blurry and all, but they may be opening a new chapter in our encyclopedias- and a new chapter for science students in the future :p .after all, comets are remnants of those particles and gases that formed planets and stars eons ago, or maybe even pieces of planets that were being hit by other comets during their infant yrs, so naturally they are floating evidences that show how our universe was formed.
today also marks a new milestone in our history, and particularly mine. today's youth day, or in other terms, the last day of a well-deserved but too-short a 3-day weekend break. HAIZ.....
