as I walked alongside fadhli, aravin and navin up the stairs into the building through the auto sliding doors, a gust of air-conditioned wind gushed right into my face, knocking out the nonchalance that i tried to retain for much of the journey hitherto, and replacing it an acute awareness of reality. before we knew it, there we were, semi-unconsciously walking into our first step to the army (or CD or police). Our ICs were immediately checked and we were told to have our pictures taken....in a No. 4 uniform!- err shirt rather...hehe...after that 4 rounds of medical checkups, one of which is the blood test ( and not forgetting the blood taking part). I had to watch navin being pierced twice cos his unsatisfactory blood outflow.ouch... after the 4 or so stations, our 'folder' would have been milimeters thicker with documents and graphs on ECG, hearing, sight abilities report etc, and then we had our height and weight taken - the normal protocols - and finally see the Medical Officer. My experience with the MO was particularly interesting.... after brief hi-s and good mornings, he instinctively took out the ECG graph from the folder and immediately remarked, " wow.... (looking at my perfect, flawless heart beat pattern)...are u a runner?" "errr noo...i...err juz play soccer...that's all =) " haha!
